Hello!
My name is Noor and I’m a Registered Psychotherapist. I completed my training at the University of Toronto and graduated with a MEd in Counselling Psychology.
I have always been passionate about psychology and mental health, and I feel that it’s truly a privilege to be able to support others with their healing.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked as an addictions counsellor for 4 years in community and residential settings. During this time, I provided support through a harm reduction based, client-centered, anti-oppressive and trauma-informed lens. I supported folx struggling with substance use alongside concerns such as trauma, depression, anxiety, c/PTSD, interpersonal relationships & more.
I aim to provide the folx I support with a space where they can share openly and be met with presence, compassion, empathy, and care.

My Approach
I provide therapy through an integrative approach, which draws from the following modalities:
Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT focuses on understanding and managing our emotions, and the underlying information they may be communicating (i.e. unmet needs).
Attachment-Based Therapy
Attachment-based therapy emphasizes building a strong therapeutic relationship to help clients regain trust and understand their emotions. It also looks at past experiences with primary caregivers and how these experiences may affect adult relationships.
Trauma-Informed
A trauma-informed approach is considerate of how trauma impacts individuals and their sense of self, functioning, relationships, etc. It focuses on creating a safe, collaborative and supportive therapeutic space for healing.
Person-Centered Therapy
Person-centered therapy consists of the therapist following the client’s goals in therapy, and acting as a supportive, non-judgmental, and compassionate facilitator.
Somatic Therapy
Somatic therapy uses mind-body exercises to help you connect with and understand your emotions. It views the task of strengthening the mind-body relationship as essential to healing.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) / Parts Work
IFS views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with their own view and role. The goal is to improve the connections between these parts to aid healing and inner balance.
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
DBT provides practical skills that can be used for emotional regulation, interpersonal communication, mindfulness, and distress tolerance.
If you have any questions about any of the modalities I use, I would be happy to discuss them and invite you to book a free 20 minute consultation.
